I believe in the power of community to bring us together and move us forward.
I am running for reelection to Westerville City Council because I believe I can continue to steward a strong sense of community here in Westerville by advocating for programs, policies, and services that allow all residents the opportunity to connect, succeed, and feel at home in our community.

About Megan
A lifelong Westerville resident, Megan Reamsnyder brings a deep commitment to service, a collaborative spirit, and a proven track record of leadership to her role on City Council. Since being elected in 2022, Megan has served for 3.5 years, including the last 1.5 years as Vice Chair. She is known among her peers—across political affiliations—for being prepared, engaged, and community-focused.
Megan’s council appointments have included the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Uptown Westerville Inc. Board, the Joint Economic Development Board with Blendon Township, and the Ohio Municipal Electric Association, where she currently holds a board seat. Her leadership has helped shape policies and programs that reflect the values and needs of Westerville residents.
Professionally, Megan serves as Assistant Director in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs at Otterbein University. In this role, she draws on her Social Work degree from The Ohio State University to build partnerships, secure funding, and support institutional growth. She believes the integration of Otterbein and the City of Westerville is a unique asset—and one she is proud to represent.
Before entering the workforce full-time, Megan dedicated much of her adult life to raising her children and serving her community through extensive volunteer work. Her grassroots involvement laid the foundation for her public service. She served as a resident appointee to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the 2020 Charter Review Commission, and completed the Citizen’s Police Academy in 2020.
Megan’s community service is wide-ranging and deeply rooted. She has served as Whittier Elementary PTA Vice President and President, and volunteered in schools for many years. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Westerville (and former board member), a founding board member of both The Big Bus—a mobile tutoring organization—and the Cultivating Success Fund. She also serves on the Neighborhood Bridges Steering Committee and regularly volunteers at events like the Farmer’s Market, Uptown Untapped, the Chamber Music and Arts Festival, and Leadership Westerville Service Days.
As the lead planner for the Rotary’s 4th of July Parade, Megan manages registration, staging, and public engagement—just one example of her hands-on leadership and dedication to building community connections. Her wide network and positive name recognition reflect years of meaningful engagement with residents from all walks of life.
Megan lives in Westerville with her children, Ollie and Abigail, and their dog Oreo. She loves the city’s vibrant Uptown District, expansive park system, and the strong sense of belonging that defines Westerville. She is committed to continuing to foster connection, inclusivity, and thoughtful growth for all residents.
